How do I know that I've correctly identified our ancestors? It's more common than you might think for several people with the same name and birth years to live in the same area. This can be confusing when looking for documents to confirm ancestors. I use the genealogical proof standard to confirm relationships. I look at birth, death, marriage, military, and census records as well as passenger lists, naturalization records, and gravstone images. I use many sources including Ancestry, Fold3, Family Search, Find My Past, Google Books, the UK General Register Office, U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services, Find a Grave, historical newspapers, etc.
Research for the following family trees cannot start until I receive information about any ancestor that was born before 1940. Do you have that information? If you have the name(s), approximate birth date(s), and place of birth for any ancestors of these families, please let me know: Corwin, Duplisea, Hines, Miller, Nawrocki, Walz.
